Welcome to my website!

I am a Ph.D. student under assoc. Prof. Jan Mráz at the Institute of Aquaculture and Protection of Waters, University of South Bohemia, Czech Republic.
My workplace is located in Budweis (Czech: České Budějovice), capital of the South Bohemian region and origin of the well-known Budweiser beer.

Main interests

  • Aquaculture waste, its transformation processes and valorisation.
  • Sustainability assessment of aquaculture practices.
  • Analytical chemistry in an aquaculture context (currently mostly element analysis).

On the sidelines

  • Data analysis with R, especially the efficient acquisition and management of research data.
  • Surveys related to aquaculture, because “wise people listen more than that they talk”.
  • Science communication, because talking is still too much fun!

I completed my B.Sc. at Duisburg-Essen University, Germany, in 2017. There, I studied “Water Science” at the Faculty of Chemistry, which is a great combination of chemistry- and biology-related lectures that share a common focus on water treatment. I then enrolled into the M.Sc. programme “Fish Biology, Fisheries, and Aquaculture” at Humboldt-University of Berlin, Germany, where I obtained my M.Sc. in 2021.
